Most of us have the occasional instance to curse technology, but today I was impressed. Broke my rear molar last night. Came into the Doolin/Haddad Advanced Dentistry office this morning and two hours later I'm leaving fully restored! One of the many remarkable pieces of technology they have allowed Dr. Haddad to manufactuer a custom fit partial crown on-site while I sat in the chair and he performed the prep work.
These guys are great! Baba Bing, Baba Bam I'm Done.

From my first phone contact through the completion of my treatment plan, the experience was great! The entire office exudes professionalism and warmth and it is not "put on".
Coming from years of discomfort and dental emergencies, I felt that something was really wrong with me. Dr. Doolin and his staff really listened to my symptoms and understood me. The most convincing part of my treatment was being able to wear my new bite as a removable orthotic device. After a few months and minor adjustments, I was totally out of pain!!
My beautiful smile make-over is really the icing on the cake. My friends know that something about me is different, but my teeth look so natural, well they are just not sure exactly what I have done. LOL. Compliments are pouring in!! I wish I had found you years ago. I can't thank you enough Dr. Doolin!

I recently completed treatment for TMJ problems at Rochester Advanced Dentisry with Dr. Haddad. Four months ago, I found myself in severe pain from headaches, jaw and face pain. I had other symptoms as well, Having had popping/clicking jaws for awhile, I suspected it was TMJ disorder and called and was promptly seen by Dr. Haddad. I was in such severe pain, Dr. Haddad prescribed pain medication/muscle relaxants, examined me and scheduled a later time to talk. Upon my return, Dr. Haddad saw me in his office and recommended I undergo treatment with their office. He showed me a slide presentation from another patient's treatment , thoroughly described the procedure and answered my questions. He and Dr. Doolin specialize in the field of neuromuscular dentistry which I knew little about. I listened, and it seemed to make sense but I wasn't totally sure. It was a costly procedure, and I wanted to think about it and do what I always do, research. Dr.s Haddad and Doolin had been my family's dentists for some time, and I already knew they were top notch dentists from the years of treatment they have provided. But were they the best choice for this specialty area?
I went home and did my research...learned about TMJ, this new technology and how it has evolved over the years. All my research pointed me back to one place...my very own Dentists! In fact, Dr. Haddad, who was treating me, had completed high level coursework from Las Vegas Institute in this field. I continued with the pain, and, knowing I could trust Dr. Haddad, agreed to begin treatment.
It was a high tech, amazing procedure with lots of computer equipment. The basic principle involves finding a patient's "correct" bite. It involves bringing the jaw and surrounding area into a toally relaxed position (measured by computer, and using electronic stimulation to the entire area). Once that is done (and confirmed, again and again), an orthotic device (mouhtguard) is created . Once I received the device, I began wearing it day and night, except for eating. I came in to see Dr. Haddad for periodic adjustments. It was a little difficult adjusting to the orthotic initially, but I soon began to notice improvement from my symptoms and actually wanted to wear it. I only had one more episode of bad headaches and then they completely went away. So did jaw pain, grating, face pain. Then, I noticed a few other things had also improved--ear stuffiness/noises, and a long term upper eyelidspasm I had grown accustomed to. Chronic neck pain was lessening. Last, but not least, I suddenly noticed a huge improvement in my long-term sinus problems! Needless to say, I am thrilled, and this treatment was definitely worth it. It is not a permanent fix, in that It doesn't change the bite. I now have the choice to have orthodontic or restorative dental work to bring the bite in alignment or just continue to wear the orthotic as needed. At this time, I am going to stay with the orthotic, and lessen its use over time. I may change my mind at any time. Thanks Dr. Haddad, and all the wonderful employees at Rocester Advanced Dentistry for all that you do!

I have been a patient of Dr. Kurt Doolin for more years than either of us would like to admit. I have watched his practice evolve over time with the latest advancements and have to say they are doing fantastic work.
When my wife became concerned I may be sufferring from sleep apnea (and she had finally had enough of my snoring!), Dr. Doolin suggested we check it out. No visits to a sleep clinic required - we arranged to take a portable device home, record my sleep data, and have the results analyzed at the office. Based on those results, Dr. Doolin took impressions and fitted me with a personalized "stop snoring" appliance which I can best describe as a mouthguard on steroids. Its purpose is to keep the lower jaw positioned slightly forward enough to maintain an airway. It took a few days to get used to but I started sleeping better immediately! Much more alert first thing in the morning and better energy through the afternoon. I had to adjust the appliance slightly during allergy season but the wife says the snoring has been reduced to a gentile purr. On occasions when I have not used the appliance I feel the differnce every time. I hardly notice the appliance now when I go to bed. This sure beats using a CPAP device for the sleep apnea. Thanks, Doc, for the great work!

We had such a wonderful experience with Tyler, Dumas and Reyes from the very beginning. Their office is comfortable and inviting, and I liked that parents are always welcome to sit in on the appointments to stay informed. The doctors and staff are not only professional and down-to-earth friendly, but it's apparent that they really enjoy what they do and who they work with. They definitely go "above and beyond" in making their office "teen friendly" by offering contests and games that my daughter loved taking part in. The best part is that Drs. Tyler, Dumas and Reyes KNOW their stuff and are absolutely fantastic in what they do—putting a beautiful smile on someone’s face! I can’t say enough good things about Tyler, Dumas and Reyes!

At the age of 55, I decided to get braces, something that I had wanted to do for years. At my age, I had my doubts about the success of such a procedure. Dr. Tyler was willing to attempt the Sure Smile procedure, but was candidly guarded given my age and the possiblity that my success may be limited.
In just 13 months, the top braces were removed and 6 months later, the lower. The favorable outcome surprised both Dr. Tyler and myself. I cannot speak highly enough of the Sure Smile procedure and Dr. Tyler's expertise in making the process such a success!
If you are an adult and thinking about braces, I would highly encourage you to give Sure Smile a try.

Chiropractic Rated Highest in Satisfaction for Back Pain in Cosumer Reports Study

In April 2009 Consumer Reports released the results of a patient survey study, that will be published in their May 2009 paper edition, showing that chiropractic rated highest among patients in satisfaction of relief of back pain. Results of the study were reported on in several news articles including an April 6, 2009 Web-MD article and an April 8, 2009 CBS news story.
The survey noted that 80% of US adults report having back pain some time in their life. Of those responding to the survey chiropractic received the highest grade with 59% saying that they were “highly satisfied” with their results. Physical therapy and acupuncture rated second and third with 55% and 53% respectively. In comparison, satisfaction with medical specialist and primary care medical physicians rated only 44% and 34% respectively.
CBS News medical expert Dr. Jennifer Ashton commented that the results of this study reflect what she is seeing in her practice. She noted that back pain is the most common ailment in the country and it is difficult to treat. Dr. Ashton stated that her patients are looking elsewhere, “They’re staying away from things like medication, prescription drugs and surgery.” Dr. Ashton also warned against a “quick fix” to get rid of the pain. She noted, “A lot of times that’s prescription narcotics, which is actually probably the worst thing for you.” She also warned, “Surgery is another option, but one that should be used as a last resort.”
American Chiropractic Association President Glenn Manceaux, DC, responded in a press release, “For the treatment of back pain, few options are better than chiropractic. As shown in this latest survey, chiropractic spinal manipulation is an evidence-based and effective treatment for low-back pain and other musculoskeletal injuries. Coupled with the high levels of patient satisfaction, patients should turn to chiropractic as their first choice.”
Dr. John Maltby, President of the International Chiropractors Association added, “For well over 100 years chiropractors have been seeing a large number of patients suffering with back problems. And although chiropractic does not directly treat the pain, we do work to correct the underlying structural and neurological problem that in many cases is causing the problem. This study shows what we have known for a long time. Chiropractic get results and helps people lead normal and healthier lives.”
